Back again, for at least one post

So, restarting my blog the exact way it was somehow merited a 2.0, yet a complete reboot on a different software and a different webhost only gets 2.01.  Well, that’s because this is what 2.0 should’ve been, and we’re certainly not to 3.0 yet.

Why am I posting again?  I have a lot of internal turmoil, and I hope this can help to resolve some of that.  I’m about to start a full-scale job search, and posting about it might help me to keep my spirits up, as well as give me some sort of accountability.  I posted a question to reddit on how to increase my marketability, and one answer stuck out.  The poster mentioned a strategy where you assume 50 resume submissions for every interview and 4 interviews before you get an offer.  With that, you create a 200 square grid and a 4 square grid, and check off the boxes when you submit resumes and get interviews respectively.  I think I might do this, and I think I might do this electronically on this blog.

On a side note, I close on my house tomorrow,  and I am super excited, and super-stressed.  The stress is mainly the fear of the unknown since I’ve never owned a house before, and there’s so much to do, and so little money to do it.  But, I’m certain that the excitement will overwhelm the stress once I can play in my new house around noon tomorrow.  (I’m taking the day off.)

So, for those of you who like WordPress better than MT, thank Daniel since he pointed me to Dreamhost, and they made this installation so incredibly easy.  Now that I’ve posted this, hopefully I can feel like this is off of my mind for today because I really need to get some more work done before I leave today.   The fact that I am slowly beginning to hate my job has made it very difficult to concentrate.

I hear that buddy. I hate looking for jobs. Probably why I’m still where I am.

The return of this website made my afternoon.

And the fact that we will be able to follow the life of bicman using an electronic 200 space grid is exactly what these troubled times are calling for.

Kudos to you on your house purchase.

Well, and I’m wondering if I want to use 200. For some reason, I was wondering if I should up the count to 10 interviews before I get an offer, and with 50 resumes per interview, that’ll make it about 500 squares. I’m still tweaking the idea. Any thoughts? Anyone? Bueller?

Will Joan Rivers be in the center square?

And Jm J. Bullock in the upper left corner? That ‘Too Close For Comfort’ fruit…
